What I learned so far:
· I have learned about the different purposes of camera shots and how it can be used to demonstrate different aspects of a film's setting, characters and themes. My analysis has shown that even in a very short sequence an awful lot of different camera angles and distances are used.
· I learned to use Camera angles to position the viewer so that they can understand the relationships between the characters, setting and other characters.
· Also to use different types of sound to create an impression - non-diegetic music is the most obvious way to tell the audience what to feel but I have been interested also in diegetic sound and how it can create a feeling / mood.
· The different types of lighting, to deepen a character or setting. Also the uses of the varied types of lighting and its purpose. We don't have sophisticated lighting equipment but we need to think about the effects of natural / artificial lighting.
· To compose a frame effectively.
· Learned about typical media techniques which are used often in opening sequences like a montage or cross-cutting.
